WebTV DISHPlayer ad in newspaper

San Diego (7-2-99) - In time for Fourth of July shoppers, the July 2, 1999 edition of The San Diego Union-Tribune newspaper included a Fry's Electronics store advertising supplement where there was this ad for the new WebTV-capable DISHPlayer. Fry's Electronics has store locations in California (including Los Angeles and San Diego), Arizona, Oregon, and Texas.

Wait until about a year from now when you may possibly see several different ads for other set-top boxes in your local newspaper. WebTV pretty much has the U.S. retail market to itself at this time. The new WebTV-capable DISHPlayer satellite TV set-top box has a MSRP of $499 which is discounted to $199 until September 30, 1999 as previously reported.
