THE LEADTEK WINFAST TV 2000 XP
AS AN INEXPENSIVE TV TUNER CARD
FOR WATCHING AND RECORDING
YOUR FAVORITE TV SHOWS
The Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 XP Expert card is a good cheap TV Tuner card that you can probably pick up for $50 or less at your local computer store. (In addition to the "Expert" version, there is also a "Deluxe" version that you may want to look at also.) Many users have written in asking about the card and they have been attracted to the card because of its cheap price and also because it has a remote control. I suggested the Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 XP Expert card to my sister's husband when he got around to wanting to install a TV card in their PC. This page is what I found out about the Leadtek WinFast card after helping my sister's husband install the card in their PC.
The Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 XP Expert card is a
TV Tuner card that installs in a PCI slot in a PC
As well as being able to watch TV with the card, the Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 XP Expert card is also suppose to be able to receive FM radio signals but I haven't figured out how the FM radio works on the card. The default software for the Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 XP Expert card also let's you do picture-in-picture (PIP) where you are watching live TV on the main screen of the software while a smaller picture in the lower-righthand corner can have a recorded TV show being played (or vice versa with the TV recording on the main screen and the live TV in the smaller PIP).
The Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 XP Expert card came with a
remote control, cables, instructions, and installation CDs.
The card comes with various cables for hooking up the card plus a simple remote control with batteries. But you may need to get a cable for hooking up a TV antenna or for hooking up to the cable TV connection in the wall of your home. And the card also came with "SE" ("special edition") versions of Ulead VideoStudio 7 SE and and Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2.5 SE for if you want to try editing any TV mpeg recordings. (If you only want the Ulead software, then getting the Leadtek WinFast card is a bargain.) The Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 XP software that comes with the card can also record in the Windows Media Video (WMV) format and you would have to use the Windows Movie Maker software that comes with Windows XP to edit WMV video files (be sure to get the free upgrade to Windows Movie Maker 2 from the Microsoft updates site if you want to edit WMV files).
The Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 XP Expert card also comes with the default TV software as shown below with the various screenshots. Reports from various users indicate that the Snapstream Beyond TV software (which provides for a more tivo-like television recording experience) can also work with the Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 XP card although the card is not currently listed as officially supported by Snapstream. (You can click here to find out more about the Snapstream Beyond TV software.) And you should be able to use the Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 XP card with the free Dscaler TV software. However, if you want something that is ready-to-go without having to get anything else, then most people should find the default software that comes with the card to be sufficient.

You can also adjust the TV picture settings on the Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP.
You can use various recording settings when recording
television shows with the Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 XP card.
You can set up when the Leadtek WinFastTV 2000XP card is to
record TV shows (make sure to leave the PC left turned on).
You can either manually set up individual recording times or you can
use TitanTV.com as a web-based EPG to set up the TV recordings.

Again, the Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 XP card is a good cheap TV Tuner card that you can probably pick up for $50 or less at your local computer store. The card comes with the default TV software as shown here with the various screenshots. And the card also comes with various cables for hooking up the card plus a simple remote control with batteries. It'll work for most people right out of the box. You may eventually want to move up at least from the default software that comes with the card to other software like the Snapstream Beyond TV software and you should be able to do that. Also, since it comes with the Ulead VideoStudio and Ulead DVD MovieFactory software, albeit "SE" special edition versions, the card is a bargain.
